Galadriel is still unwelcome in Númenor. The revolt rumbles in the Kingdom between the pro and anti-Elves. Pharazon, advisor to Queen Miriel, announces that he will never let the Elves take over the Kingdom.
Galadriel asks the Queen for an alliance to counter Sauron. The latter refuses the proposal. Galadriel's anger leads her to prison. Pharazon will try to convince the Queen to send Galadriel back quickly.
Arrondir, a prisoner of the Orcs, meets Adar, an Elf. He turns out to be the leader of the Orcs.
Bronwyn and the other inhabitants of Tirharad take refuge in the Watchtower. More villagers are pouring in. They cannot survive for long if the population continues to grow at this rate. Bronwyn's son, Theo, wants to get food against his mother's advice, and he will be confronted by the Orcs.
Elrond and Celebrimbor are still at the giant forge with the Dwarves. Celebrimbor wants to find Durin to clear up some doubts.

While Galadriel manages to escape from the prison, she joins the Queen and tries to reason with her. Through a palantír, one of the seven Vision Stones, Galadriel sees Miriel's recurring nightmare, that of the Kingdom engulfed by a tsunami.
