Love is a contact sport.
Mark Newton (Alexander Lincoln) is a relatively inexperienced new player on the B team of a London rugby club for gay men.
He meets Warren Hunt (Alexander King), a star player on the A team. The two men are long-time partners, with Warren's boyfriend, John, being another star player on the A team.
Warren is initially concerned that the affair will come back to John's ears, while Mark's traveling boyfriend, Richard, allows an open relationship as long as Mark tells him about it and doesn't let it get out of hand.
While Richard is gone for a month, Mark and Warren decide to continue their relationship.
Henry Michaels (William Hearle), another new rugby player, develops a drinking problem due to his loneliness and unrequited feelings for Mark.
