Top Gun: Maverick

Feel the need... The need for speed.

Fighter pilot and Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) would rather fly than earn his wings. He is now a test pilot in the Mojave Desert for the hypersonic aircraft project, The Darkstar. After a flight of the prototype where he reached Mach 10, his plane caught fire and Maverick had to eject. The test program must end. Admiral Cain (Ed Harris), in charge of the program, wants to ban Maverick from flying.

Maverick is summoned to the base by his friend and former rival pilot, Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, now the commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Maverick can become the new instructor of the Top Gun fighter school. There he meets Lieutenant Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Milles Teller), the son of Nick "Goose" Bradshaw. Bradshaw keeps his distance. Rooster reproaches Maverick in particular for having slowed down his career.

His team's mission is to destroy a high mountain facility for the manufacture of enriched uranium. Maverick shows all his ease in flight in front of the admiration of his team.

Maverick sees Iceman again, a four-star admiral who has been stricken with a serious illness. He explains to Maverick that he must succeed in this mission and advises him on how to deal with Rooster.
