Independence Day: Resurgence

This movie is hot garbage. I can get into impossible science fiction stories, but it just seems like a couple of people got crazy talented animators to draw up some boards and couldn't think of dialogue to go along with the imagery. That burns the story on what could have been a good movie, but full of bro one liner jokes that just fall flat among all the rest of the garbage. Continuity isn't as important a thing if you have new characters, just saying. Watch it when it is on for free, if you pay for it, you'll regret it.

This sequel pales in comparison to the original Independence Day movie. Awkward plot executed in a very trite way that shows little to no respect for the greatness that was in Independence Day. Character development is non-present for the most part and what is there isn't original, but lies upon characters from the first film. I now know why Will Smith isn't in this movie- it's a bust. I'm sorry to have wasted my time and money on this and wish there was a refund available. The only saving grace to ID2 is the few characters brought back from the original.

A stupid sicfi sequel that doesn't even have the sense to follow the lead of its predecessor by satirizing itself. The story makes little sense and whatever tension might have been wrung out of its hackneyed alien invasion theme is drowned out by an idiotic script and by the performances of big name stars who obviously needed some quick cash. If you have avoided seeing this bomb up til now, do yourself a favor and rent "Arrival"
