About this movie

Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline this supernatural action-adventure as two cops dispatched by the Rest In Peace Department (R.I.P.D.) to protect and serve the living from increasingly destructive spirits hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork to restore the cosmic balance...or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way. This movie had a very similar feel to Men In Black but not as well developed. Action-wise it was fun. Didn't have a lot of "WOW!" factor. The story was somewhat predictable. Once I figured it out, the rest of the movie kinda bored me. If they ever do a sequel, the story needs to be much stronger. BUT, it was a fun movie to watch mainly because of the interaction between Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds. Not sure why but Mary-Louise Parker is kinda hot in this movie.

I see most of the crowd drank it's haterade today. R.I.P.D. was great. From the one liners that weren't over used, to fresh action sequence that didn't look like a stock Michael Bay film-reel. Good acting and fun times explored in a fresh setting. I mean how many other movies do you know of written by teams of douche nozzles about a dead police department?

When I saw the previews for this movie in the theatre I knew I had to see it. I waited patiently, and when the moment came to see it I was ecstatic, only to finish the movie in disappointment. Jeff and Ryan are two funny men but the movie was slow, boring, and predictable. The plot had so much potential but didn't live up to the hype. I'm truly sorry I had to pay to see this movie.
