About this movie

When Chuck the astronaut (Dwayne Johnson) lands on a distant planet filled with little green people, he is surprised to discover that we are not alone in the galaxy. But he gets the shock of his life when the residents of Planet 51 mistakenly believe that his presence is the start of an alien invasion of the human kind! Luckily, Lem (Justin Long) quickly realizes that Chuck is friendly and makes it his personal mission to help him return safely to his ship. - 2009 Ilion Animation Studios, HandMade Films International, Antenna 3 Films, Lem Films Limited and Chuck & Lem, S.L. I watched Planet 51 because I thought that, with a 3.9 review score, it might be a worthwhile diversion even without being an A-list movie. How utterly, utterly wrong I was. Despite good animation and an excellently-built world, the movie fails because it is boring. REALLY, REALLY boring. Whole scenes exist to convey single plot points and one-note jokes. Characters are reduced to their most cursory stereotype. One scene rehashes another scene. And whenever something interesting happens, it happens again. And again. To the point of obnoxiousness. If you've seen the dog that parodies Giger's Alien, you have seen pretty much everything cool or worthwhile about the film. Beyond that, you will be wasting your time.

You cannot turn off closed captioning. No option to turn it off. Even when you have it off in setting its still on. I don't want to read the movie. I want to watch the movie. Need this fixed since I played 15 dollars for it. Or will this just go ignored like the rest.
