About this movie

It's been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

You get what you expect. This is the first purge film I saw. It's full of plot holes. The plot makes no sense. 90% of the conflicts are avoidable and on top of that were just out of place and pointless. It's just down right dumb. If you enjoy watching bad movies with friends and like picking out obvious problems with the plot like I do then go for it. The fact I give it two stars is because even though I enjoyed it, it was still garbage.

Pointless, uninteresting action. Movie could've been filmed with no dialogue and lost no "luster". Other movies felt like citizens against an overbearing government and highlighted separation of class. This movie felt like it targeted specific races and religions, which is a classless move in today's society. Series went from an interesting concept to hate fueling propaganda

Would give a philosophy class a full semester of discussions, and is worth about as much as those discussions. I'd give it a 2, but meh...it's ok. I haven't seen the other two, but may watch the first one now. Most ironic theme? The only obviously (even the body guard needs convincing) not racist white person convinces black people that she knows best...irrronnnyyyy
