A movie about three brothers attempting to reunite as brothers as well as become best friends by experiencing a spiritual awakening while traveling through India. The eldest brother controls the group, but has a secret agenda to reunite them with their mother. The brothers recently lost their father and are traveling with an inordinate amount of his monogrammed luggage. Looking through other reviews, it seems that the metaphor of the luggage was overlooked. So if you watch this movie, pay attention to the luggage! It's hard to classify this as a drama, a comedy or even a dramedy, but somewhere between all that. It is however, punctuated by a few funny moments that keep it going. Thought I expected more laugh-out-loud comedic moments than the movie delivered, it was nonetheless definitely worth watching.

This is a heart breaking dry dramedy about 3 brothers and the and the stages of grieving following the death of their father and abandonment of their mother, and how tragic moments can effect your life in many ways, pay attention to Anderson's use of color and visual themes that enhance the themes of each brother. Matched with an excellent soundtrack, The Darjeeling Limited is Wes Anderson at his best! A must watch!

The movie is very funny. But, it is not just a funny B movie. It is a spiritually uplifting movie with a beautiful Indian soundtrack, some 90s nostalgia, and a well represented culture. I do not know why its rated R instead of PG 13 though. It has not as nearly as much swears, violence, or sexuality, as other R movies do. It should be rated PG 13 so that more audiance can see such a beautiful film.
