Isle of Dogs

I couldn't get past the 30 minute mark. It's stylish, and I tend to like stop-motion, but this movie's style is just too.. weird for me. So many odd stylistic choices that just distracted me. The story was easy enough to follow, but quickly felt pretty generic, making everything seem like style over substance. I see this movie is mostly praised, but I just don't.. get it. Maybe this movie just isn't for me. Glad it was only a rental

I thought this was the stupidest movie i've ever seen but that's just my opinion. I didn't make it past 20 min I had to shut it off. I just dont get what's funny about this movie, and I got a pretty good sense of humor but I guess I just dont get the comedy in this film, maybe i should have watched it part the 20 min and I would have gottan to the better parts?idk talking dodgson an island that bite each others ears off while fighting over garbage.... dog locked in a cage with only his remaining bones to find when his owner with the key arrives ....nope still not funny

A lot of ppl loved Fantastic Mr Fox but I thought Isle of Dogs was better. Both are beautiful films but the humor in this film actually made me laugh (jokes landed great) and I was more invested in the story. Whats more interesting - the corrupt genocide of an entire country full of pets or the wacky antics of a father going thru midage crisis?...yeah Isle of Dogs is better.
