About this movie

Hoping to forge a better life, Denmark native Karen Blixen (Meryl Streep) enters into a marriage of convenience with a womanizing baron. But when the couple moves to Nairobi, Karen falls in love with a free-spirited hunter (Robert Redford) who can't be tied down. Director Sydney Pollack's lush period drama earned seven Academy Awards, including statues for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Do not watch. This is the second worst movie I might have ever seen. Some movies age worse than a pound of foot cheese, and Out of Africa is the stinkiest, least-deserving Oscar winner of possibly all time. If you want no plot, no story, incoherent character motivation, nonsense obtuse dialogue meaning nothing at all, cinematography vaunted in its day but clearly unimaginative and pedeistrian, gibberish editing, lifeless interminable gazes between two main actors with less chemistry than my failed AP test, a perfect setpiece of old-fashioned white colonial privilege, a supposedly famous picnic scene that lasts all of 37 seconds, and a complete waste of your precious life on earth, this is the unmitigated blowhard pretentious scrotal-scratching trashpile you've been searching for..

This is one of those classic movies that contains many life altering scenes and dialogs. This is not a Friday night movie but a cold, rainy, Sunday morning movie.

Saw this move when it frist cam out in theaters in 1085 . Though it depicts more like a real lifestyle of the early 1900 's in Africa. I think everyone should watch this movie.
