Peter Rabbit

There have been many adaptations from the timeless classic Peter Rabbit story books by Beatrix Potter, like an animated television series for 1992 and a modern yet charming animated series for late 2012. Now, American producer/writer/director "Will Gluck" made a modern updated live-action movie based on the classic book by Beatrix Potter. Unfortunately, This movie adaptation truly does not have Beatrix Potter written all over it. This is basically Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Over the Hedge (2006), Barnyard (2006), Furry Vengeance (2010) that's written all over it with a familiar Paddington-like story that's a lot more aggressively insincere. I have no idea why Will Gluck decided to make this Beatrix Potter adaptation into a comedy. This is pretty much "Saturday Night Live" for kids with CGI animals, a modern soundtrack, and comedy that failed terribly. Not to mention that this is highly inaccurate and unfaithful to the original source material! I was not entertained by this movie at all. In fact, this movie did not turn on my emotions, it just made me so unhappy and bored with so much chaos going on here, and I just had a little bit of a headache from it. The comedy is anything but positive or funny; The Dialogue contains unnecessary lines with disposable jokes and rude humor, and almost all of it is preposterous, especially involving the trio of sisters talking about who's the oldest. Some of the comedy is episodic because it was used again and again. There is also a useless running gag involving the singing sparrows. Most of the characters are not positive role models at all, except for Bea (Rose Byrne). Peter Rabbit in particular may be a mischievous rabbit like the title character from the original source, but here, Peter's mischievous behavior is way out of hand and it's not accurate to the original source; He is an immature, insincere, chaotic adult rabbit. Thomas McGregor is basically a British Stereotype with a vicious temper and a hatred for all animals. I thought that he was the main antagonist, but he actually said to Peter that he is not a bad guy, Peter has turned Thomas into a bad guy. It's very confusing to know which character is a protagonist and an antagonist. They both have sympathetic depth and they both appear on screen very often throughout the whole film. On top of that, I didn't care for any of the characters at all, because the filmmakers has made some terrible choices for the characters. The combination of the awful humor and lack of positive role models makes this a bad-natured comedy for kids which is very disheartening. Now look, I'm not going to say that it's an atrocity, because there are some redeemable qualities here: The location where Peter Rabbit and his family lives is accurate to the background illustrations of the original story books, the CGI special effects for the animals are absolutely superb with authentic detail and moving fluidity, The cast did a great job doing there performances, especially Domhnall Gleeson, the dynamic music score by Dominic Lewis is phenomenal, and of course: Bea (Rose Bryne) is a likable enough character, because she is a nice artist, she loves animals, and she hates people who hates animals. But some of the facts about rabbits that she is saying does not seem real; "perfect and honest creatures." Also, I have seen children's movies that are a lot less redeemable or a lot worse, like "The Emoji Movie" (2017) for example, but when it comes to recommendation, the "watchable" quality of this movie is on par with the emoji movie. And by the way, "Peter Rabbit" is on par with "Zookeeper" (2011); it's a ridiculously bogus excuse for a family film for kids and adults, and it will make you hate "SNL" and modern culture. Not recommended to anyone at all.

I loved the comedy and the building of the characters throughout the movie. I think this movie deserves an 98% for an Rotten Tomatoes rating review. At the end and during the credits, I found it as an very emotional scene/part in the movie for me specifically because of the rough background and tough moments the star characters went through perfectly fixated itself with the ending skit and the beautiful song(s). However, I didn't like the fact that when the girl kept on breaking her ribs, none of the rabbits even tried to physically stop her! Anyway, I really wanted to say this and now's my chance: I love the fact that the rabbits aren't real, but they 100% blend in with reality and look 100% real. The Peter Rabbit cast did a very good job with everything and I honestly don't care about the Rotten Tomatoes rating review because it currently has 4.4 rating review on Google. And the last time i checked, America runs on Dunkin' and Google! Peter Rabbit is by far one of the greatest kid friendly and funniest action/animation movie produced by Sony and Columbia Entertainment. I don't have to say this because the judges already know, but Simon... hit that golden buzzer!! *Crowd cheers*

Hmm... No. Just no. Some minor issues include Peter sticking a carrot down Old McGreggor's pants. And there is the part about Peter's parents and on screen death of the father. It shows Old McGreggor dying of a heart attack and the rabbits boast about it and also shows Old McGreggor at his wife's grave. Here's the real problem: Peter saying there isn't such thing as allergies and also using New McGreggor's allergy to kill him, but that's really all. Beatrix is rolling in her grave.
