About this movie

What does it take for a person to snap? How much despair for a mind to fracture? These are the twisted questions that The Joker has set out to answer, to show Gotham that even an ordinary man like Commissioner Gordon is only one bad day away from sheer insanity. Based on the acclaimed DC Comics graphic novel, witness a journey into the dark psyche of the Clown Prince of Crime. Follow his humble beginnings as a struggling comic to his fateful encounter with the Dark Knight that changed everything. Fueled by the return of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker, witness the birth of a super villain, the fortitude of a hero and the punch line that will leave you speechless.

the first act of the film has nothing to do with the graphic novel and is a rather weird "batgirl" story to tell let alone link to a film with such a title. i thought they were going to try and link it in a weird new twisty way to the killing joke but they didn't and i think it's better that they didn't because they actually end up throwing in a sordid piece of comic canon involving bats and babs(those who've read the books know what i'm talking about). so the weird former act of the film aside, the latter half of the film was for me a huge payoff. conroy and hamill back on the mic and it was done in almost the way frank miller's works and watchmen have been put to film in a panel by panel to screen adaptation. i highly enjoyed it, especially since the joker was in high form (that tune is still stuck in my head). i would suggest paying less for it if you're going to buy it. it's not the most stellar animation entry for dc but i did go to the theater to watch it so go figure. the only 3 star film of theirs imo.

I don't get the high ratings. This movie was so hyped and it just disappointed me. It was rushed. The first 40 minutes built the foundation of a story that was never even really relevant. Too much drama. I wanted the joker and batman but instead I got a soggy back story and an attempt to make joker truly vile but really just making him a friendly pervert. And the ending was awful. Like. Truly awful. After the rape, and the kidnapping, batman is like "haha you're actually funny joker" and it's like sincere..

Ok movie all in all but.. This movie..like... honestly joker or batman should have met the end and we know which one and the whole point of this comic is supposed to be the final fight from what I heard but....he laughed at the end even after bat girl got shot like.. Wisky tango foxtrot...is going on here...I actually am glad this got 46 percent it deserves worse TBH.
