About this movie

Cayden Richards, 18, has it all: Captain of the high school football team; straight-A student; gorgeous girlfriend. But when he wakes one dark night to find his parents brutally murdered, he is horrified to realize that he is turning into an animal: a wild, savage wolf. Panicked, Cayden runs, determined to find out what is happening to him. His quest leads him to the strange, isolated town of Lupine Ridge, where two clans of wolves are on the brink of war. The opposing clans are lead by Connor, the powerful, pure-blood alpha of a savage pack and John Tollerman, an old farmer, committed to protecting the human citizens of Lupine Ridge. But when Cayden falls for Angelina, the beautiful, young mate promised to Connor, a battle to the death is inevitable. And as the past begins to reveal itself, Cayden's place in the world becomes clearer as does his power to put an end to the savage violence building up around and within him.

Despite the critics, this movie actually follows a more believable story line than most movies. Here the wolves are a bloodline, not magical at all, going back through time living among humans, and there's nothing magic about them, its as if their just a genetic subspecies of humans. This allows a slightly open mind to follow along. If your looking for the fantastical stories with magic and sorcery and completely un-believable and un-relatable creatures, this isnt for you, but if your looking for a story that almost seems possible in our own world, if you stretch the boundaries of genetics ever so slightly, you will love this one.

Usually one would blow off the movie based on the title alone. View with an open mind, and one is surprised at the depth of plot that this movie brings. The characters and acting makes the viewer engage with the storyline and outcomes of the characters. Easy to predict the flow of the story, yet still surprised the viewer will be at the double plot twists that embody this tale. Coming of age werewolf drama that stands on its own.

While this certainly wasn't your over the top Hollywood film, it was still entertaining and consistent all around. I'm glad it didn't follow the usual drama of teen monster drama and just touched on it briefly in the beginning. The acting and action scenes were decent - didn't have a B-movie feel.
