There are some elements that are great. I love Anna as a character and their love scene paired with the song Hold On by Fortystore is one of my fav of all the Highlander love scenes. I give those elements a 5. But plot, believability, risk and stakes, the ending - oh my word - brings it all down with 1's across the board. Hasn't stopped me from watching it quite a few times.

The sad thing about this movie is that somewhere in there was a great story. This could have been the best Highlander movie since the original. The twist on the "there can be only one" slogan was new and refreshing. It just seems they got a bigger budget than they were used to and went nuts throwing in everything from the apocalypse, to the planets aligning (completely defying physics,) to unnecessary explosions, to Duncan starting out on a rooftop acting like Batman. Had they used the money to focus on a cohesive plot, strong character development and a good sword fight or two, it would have been a great movie.

A tragic ending to what was a great idea. The show expanded upon the concept of Highlander and gave it depth but this movie just took a big steaming dump on all of that.
