During Kaneki's visit with Yoshimura, he asks for information about the Owl, and is told the tragic tale of a young ghoul named Kuzen. Touka makes plans to move out of Anteiku. A snowy day brings with it brisk business at the coffee shop.

Yoshitoki is granted permission to execute the operation to eradicate the Owl. The many CCG officers involved in the mission take time beforehand to write any last words they might have, as the 20th Ward is cordoned off and its civilians evacuated.

Suzuya is left to face the newly-arrived one-eyed Owl on his own. Aogiri Tree joins the battle against CCG, who find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer number of opponents. Meanwhile, Kaneki confronts Amon, who stands in his way to Anteiku.

Kaneki and Hide are reunited, and the two of them revisit the times they spent together. Kaneki and Touka separately remember the other members of Anteiku, as both they and CCG cope with their losses.

About this show

Tokyo lives in fear of creatures called Ghouls. By day, they live as ordinary humans, but by night, they become flesh-eating monsters. When an young man becomes the first Ghoul-human half breed, he must learn to harness his deadly, newfound powers.

I remember seeing this show before it hit mainstream anime. I even imported my wallet from japan. This is by far my favorite anime of all time, this coming from someone who has watched anime all his life. (I remember when Robotech was first aired.) I have recommended it to all my friends who laughed at me before it was cool. Sure showed them :) This show shows you what a wild ride you are in for withing the first 5 minutes. If you are not a fan of blood, scenes of intense action, strong development of all characters, and a truly original story line, this show is not for you. However, if you are a fan of anime, and are looking for something original, look no farther.

Definitely hoping for the unlikely Brotherhood treatment but I binge this constantly because I love seeing the masterpiece of the manga on-screen -- or what they nitpicked of the manga lol. At least there IS an anime of it....especially one I enjoy despite flaws

One of the best anime from the Fall and winter season of 2014. The animation is well done, the story is fantastic. Although the second season deviates from the manga it is still enjoying to watch. If you get the chance read the manga for a more developed story on the characters and for more gore, but it you don't feel like waiting a whole year or looking them up the show will be fine enough.
