About this movie

Academy-Award® winner Rachel Weisz (Denial) and Rachel McAdams (Spotlight) star in this spellbinding drama about a woman as she returns to the community that shunned her decades earlier for an attraction to a childhood friend. Wow... I had low expectations as a person who's seen SO MANY movies in their lifetime, but this one was different. I was not able to predict every aspect as with other movies. It showed a different perspective to a story that has been told before. I truly enjoyed it. Job well done by ALL of the actors. Beautiful movie.

What I find interesting/funny are all the people who are against this movie due to the storyline of two women in love who struggle to overcome the obstacles that keep them apart (faith, family/friends, community, stigma,etc)...why are they watching it in the first place? This film shows the heartache caused by not being one's authentic self due to persecution...those with bigoted comments... you're the cause of that pain because of your ignorance and hate... but love will win out and you'll still be stuck with narrow minds and your hate cut off from so many opportunities to meet amazing people that can open your world to beautiful things in this life because you perceive us as different/less than. Even if it were a choice (which it's not)... I would choose being like me over you every time.

Love Rachel McAdams. I would watch almost any movie she's in. Believable story. At least these people don't do "honor killings" or blow themselves up to kill their own people, or other people who don't hold their same beliefs. The Jews don't hurt anybody. ✌
