The amazingly gifted Santiago Munez, a young immigrant living in the barrios of Los Angeles, has an impossible dream -- to play soccer for a world class team. Unexpectedly getting a tryout with one of England's premier soccer clubs, Newcastle United, Santiago finds himself totally alone in a world where soccer is a religion and the players are gods. Now he not only has to prove he has the passion, talent, and determination to make it alongside the best in the world, but he has to overcome his own demons and those of others. Bought this movie purely because the box had a picture of my team on it. Didn't know what to expect, hadn't heard anything about it. It's a simple movie and a story that has been told in many other forms, but it captures the passion of football in the UK and that's what makes it special. The cinematography captures the game beautifully and the storyline is blended in well with real game footage. I watch frequently, almost as much as Top Gear.

I love this film and recommend it, but this copy is edited and dubbed for explicit language which impacts your immersion in the film. If you hadn't seen this film before, then you might not notice them, but the dubs are sometimes bad. I wish I would have known the copy I was buying was edited. Still a great film.
