About this movie

Former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old, apathetic high school teacher. When budget cutbacks threaten to cancel some of the school's programs and lay off its music teacher (Henry Winkler), Scott creates a scheme to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy -- most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek). In his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he inspires his students and becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school.

Kids like it. Wives like comedy. And any out of shape 40yo male can put himself in this role, especially one that wrestled. It has something for everyone and even quotes Scripture - Word!!! It's not quite Rocky but Rocky didn't have a comedian as the star. I am pro UFC so to see them use their name and rights and staff to be part of this movie is awesome. I haven't even looked at the director yet and still like the movie. Time will tell if this becomes a classic worth watching over and over. I don't recall lines I can use in the real world and with Baz & comic, I should recall lines, code names and Classic jokes. 1:poor 2:fair 3:good 4:excellent 5:classic. thank you to the whole cast.. 4 stars and maybe 5 someday.. God bless.

How Kevin James became a successful actor baffles me every time I see his face. He is a terrible actor. He's not funny and everything he has done has been awful. My gf, for reasons I cannot fathom likes him, so I've been forced to watch a lot of his shit work. This one, however, is where I drew the lines. After 30 minutes I refused to be subjected to him anymore. If I were you, I wouldn't even watch the 30 minutes.

I love reading many of the reviews on Google, from all the up and coming movie critics of the world. I do think that if you're being overly critical here, you're over analyzing things. This is a feel good movie with a solid cast. Many new comers play off of veteran comedians Kevin James and Henry Winkler. The story line is unique and creates a fun and entertaining journey. I laughed out many times; enjoy this movie with the whole family.
