The first half is great. Very moody and scary but then it loses it's way. Overall it's a good movie (with the usual great effects), decent acting but a poor script and after a great start it flounders badly. It's worth a rent but on the small screen you will lose some of it's impact but I see no reason to buy it (if it's on GP ..not sure if it is) on dvd unless you are a big TC fan or a big fan of the story. The beginning is probably worth it but just don't expect too much after that.

It is so good . Steven Spielberg did a great job on this movie . It is the kind of movie were you really want to find out the ending . You might also learn some lessons like, just because you love your child, doesn't mean you can't let him follow his dreams . Wow ! Tom Cruise and the girl Rachel did a great job on acting . Amazing how technology can make things look so realistic . It even says in the Catholic bible,"The end of the world will start from the sky ".

I loved this movie, watched it numerous times. Cruise plays the unresponsible divorsed father that can't be counted on as a grown up that has his children when the planet is attacked from the inside out. Would love to have seen a part 2, could go anywhere with ideas, like the aliens regrouped in Antarctica after 10 years or so they battle it out again only diferent.
