Campy cheesy fun even when it first came out. Millennials need not try an accept the very poor special effects, over the top acting and amazing Soundtrack by Queen. Just let the late boomers and Gen X'ers enjoy this without your fuss.

• Grand film with good memories of my adolescents and teen years. Think anybody want to have a popcorn night this is one of those. A joy to watch and the stories is fair, the music by Sting, the handmade scenery and costumes, everything is superb. Cl;-)~

Campy, cheesy, but a total cult classic! I remember seeing Flash Gordon as a kid, and similar to the characters in the movie "Ted" I was awestruck by it all. The effects, the settings, the heroes and villains, and of course the beautiful women. It was a feast for my pre-pubescent senses. As I have watched it growing up (and I have, many times) it has become more comical and campy, but the nostalgia factor is still high. One thing that has always rang true about this film is the excellent score by Queen. What an awesome soundtrack! This just adds to the nostalgia and what I would say is the "AWESOME" factor of this film.
