About this movie

A Marine platoon fights to prevent the city of Los Angeles from being overtaken by a race of highly advanced alien invaders in this epic sci-fi action thriller from director Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and producer Neal H. Moritz (I Am Legend, Fast & Furious). After decades of speculation about life on other planets, the people of Earth discover that extraterrestrials really do exist when destruction rains down from the stars on cities all across the globe. When the alien warships descend upon Los Angeles, however, the ferocious invaders discover that humankind won't go down without a fight as a gruff Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his fearless troop of jarheads point their weapons skyward and make one last stand for the entire human race.

A guy named Craig Barnes made a stupid comment about being tired of movies depicting America saving the day in movies. He probably believed he was saying something intelligent. Craig Barnes you dummy. It is a movie about a small group of U.S. marines in the middle of an alien invasion cut off from everyone. You don't want to sound anti-American, but that being your only complaint about this movie makes you exactly that. If it were about Chinese soldiers than they would have saved the day.

Horrible Movie and im a huge Alien Sci Fi Fan of these kind of films.I was on a date and managed to stick out the whole 2 hours for this film in the theatre.Like some other reviews the CGI was just Aweful! It was basically a armed forces advertisement from start to finish. This film I believed hurt the actors careers because the movie was so terrible. The movie had a bad plot, horrible writing and was Ultimately Cheesy. This movie was beyond disappointment!!

I think some people are looking for too much from this film. It's a medium budget film with a simple storyline. But it delivers in a big way! I really enjoyed the premise of human Marines vs alien Marines. It never tries to be bigger than it is. There's nothing typical about it. Just a fun Sci-fi/military movie with great special effects. Definitely one of my top go to movies when I'm on the couch and there's nothing else on t.v.
