Ok, this movie won't win any Oscars but I thought it was a great "Lifetime"-like movie. I probably would have gone to see it in the theater if only to support Jill Scott, Common and RZA as the director. The story line was light but entertaining and comparable to any of these other movies that do not have a predominate persons-of-color cast. You can consider it predictable however, the setting/topic was good to see as a relaxing story line - sort of like an easy book read. There's room for all types of movies - deep and moving to those that are simply entertaining to watch. This is one of them. I say keep making movies like this - at least some of the time. It's good to occasionally watch a movie that's not too heavy but you can at least relate to.

Its not big budget, that said it was interesting to see how the conflict of rap vs poetry was resolved in the end. A few parts of the plot were pushing the envelope of reality but as Jill Scott said "Thats Poetry".
