Zhou Xun is a Chinese actress and singer who is considered one of the Four Dan Actresses of China (the most bankable) along with Zhang Ziyi, Zhao Wei and Xu Jing Lei. Born on October 18, 1974, Zhou Xun made her acting debut in the 1991 film “Old Grave.” She has since starred in many popular films and television dramas and won many acting accolades during her successful career. Some of her recent roles include the film “Our Time Will Come” (2017) and the television dramas “Red Sorghum” (2014) and “Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace” (2018). As a singer, she also has released two albums and many hit singles. Zhou Xun married American actor Archie Kao in 2014.

“Painted Skin: The Resurrection” is a 2012 Chinese film directed by Wu Er Shan. It is a follow-up to the 2008 “Painted Skin” and reunites most of the original cast.
