About this movie

Superstar genetic engineers Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) specialize in splicing DNA from different animals to create incredible new hybrids. Now they want to use human DNA in a hybrid that could revolutionize science and medicine. But when the pharmaceutical company that funds their research forbids it, Clive and Elsa secretly take their boldest experimentation underground--risking their careers by pushing the boundaries of science to serve their own curiosity and ambition. The result is Dren, an amazing, strangely beautiful creature of uncommon intelligence and an array of unexpected physical developments. At first, Dren exceeds their wildest dreams. But as she grows and learns at an accelerated rate, her existence threatens to become their worst nightmare. This movie was wrong in every way. I'm glad I didn't buy it, the plot was shaky and unentertaining not to mention the twisted turn of events. Although there are sick people in the world who would sell mankind for a dollar amount, I don't recommend watching this movie unless you like sex with monsters and unimaginable greed. I for one hated it and will never think about watching it again. That's what I think. In fact my star rating should be in the negative star range.

I was very excited for this after seeing a trailer, and despite a friend even telling me to reconsider, I tried watching this with an open mind. But its just not what I was hoping for. There is no mystery really here, there's so many moments of obvious pop ups that are meant to be scary, but just aren't, and don't get me started with the ending... Just save your 2.99 and watch something else.

While it has an extremely interesting premise, the show really fails to deliver. The parts that were supposed to be suspenseful were not, or worse, outright laughable. At times it devolves into something resembling strange fetish porn. The only thing it had to offer was some good CGI of the spliced creature. This movie could have definitely given us a chilling and fascinating glimpse into the possible future of splicing DNA. Instead we get a lackluster suspense pseudo-comedy.
