About this movie

Hellbent on following in the footsteps of their music idols, a young rock band moves to Los Angeles to chase their dreams of stardom on the Sunset Strip. When they meet an enigmatic stranger who seems to know them better than they know themselves, he preys on their most basic desires and emotions. He entices them with an offer that sets them on a path to fame and fortune. But when their debut album, AMERICAN SATAN, is released it sets off a firestorm of controversy, death, and destruction beyond anything the music world could ever imagine.

International Rock superstars Andy Black (Black Veil Brides) and Ben Bruce (Asking Alexandria) lead an all-star cast that includes Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), John Bradley (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), Denise Richards (Starship Troopers), Mark Boone, Jr. (FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”) Bill Duke (Predator), BooBoo Stewart (The Twilight Saga), and Drake Bell (Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh”).

Oops! Started watching this, and realised it's for kids, so switched it off. If you're idea of rock is the cool stuff from late 60s, 70s, (omit 80s)and 90s, then avoid this film like the plague. It's that naff pop metal from the noughties onwards. It's like some tv movie you might stumble across late at night. Shame it's features Malcolm McDowell, but i suppose the guy has bills to pay. Sorry kids, but music and counter culture really did die by the end of the nineties.

Very fun movie. Was not familiar with any of the actors prior to watching it. The main actor is cool (yeah, I know he's in a popular band now). Love the soundtrack. Wish some bands would have been featured more prominently. But still it is awesome and it fits the movie extremely well. Can't wait for the sequel. To each their own, but I think some people tried to take it too seriously and ended up dissapointed. It's title is American Satan. Enough said.

It had a good plot and interesting concept. I'm neutral on whether or not I could recommend it. I wish it would have done more to show what happens to a lot of these people at the end of their careers. They may have money (in some cases) but theirs a lot of baggage that I think catches up to them in the end.
