About this movie

Ludovic is waiting for a miracle. With six-year-old certainty, he believes he was meant to be a little girl and that the mistake will soon be corrected. But where he expects the miraculous, Ludo finds only rejection, isolation and guilt as the intense reactions of family, friends, and neighbors strip away every innocent lace and bauble. As suburban prejudices close around them, family loves and loyalties are tested in the ever-escalating dramatic turns of Alain Berliner's critically acclaimed first feature. Winner of the Golden Globe(r) for Best Foreign Language Film and a favorite at festivalsaround the world, this unique film experience delivers magic of the rarest sort through a story of difference, rejection, and childlike faith in miracles. © 1997 Haut Et Court, Sarl, WFE, Freeway Films Limited, La Sept Cinema, SA, TF1 Films Production and RTBF. It is a heart wrenching movie, that had some funny parts to it, and painted an accurate picture of how people of the transgender community are treated most of the time. but was mostly has really emotional parts to it to the point of making you have to pause the movie a couple of times to gather yourself. Also the relationship between her and the family was pretty spot on, in how most families react, if their child acted the same way. Though overall I would totally recommend this movie to anyone who wants a well done movie to watch.

I watched this in my college English class for an essay we are writing about gender. I teared up in class, we ran out of time and I had to finish watching it at home. Very powerful film. I wish we could just let people be the way they are, instead of trying to force them into a mold.

This movie made me cry so much. You can really sympathize with the main character and what she is going through.
