I have been a monster loyal John Wayne fan for over 50 years. Most of his movies I've seen at least five times some probably 30 or 40. Not the John Wayne a small kid ones but hands down one of his best films ever made. The chemistry of Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne has never been more evident than in this film. If you're tired of your girlfriend making you watch The Notebook here's one you'll both like.

Involving some traditional and outdated stereotypes of women but still worth a watch. Understanding that this is a romantic story of how things used to be, it is a truly great movie. I found it funny, touching and refreshing to watch these two incredibly strong-willed characters interacting in this movie. It will always hold a special place in my collection.

For years, my father would suggest this movie to me but I always resisted. While fighting the flu, I finally gave it a try. Not a year has gone by since that I don't watch it....and I enjoy it more each time.
