Great production has the advantage, contrary to the movie, to have more time to exploit the story and being more faithful to the book. Great actors. The one defect is that people are too "clean", with nice haircuts and no dirt. In that regard the movie has an edge. That said, the movie and the series are different enough to make a comparison impossible. Bernardo is evil enough. William still clever. Adso is well portrayed. Berengar is excellent. I really liked it.

OK rendition of the novel. Personally, I liked the Sean Connery film better. Didn't like the casting in this one for Anselm and the peasant girl. They are both far too pretty and don't fit in with era at all. The rest of the cast were good though and the ambience and set realistic. I would have watched more of it if it had been free, but it wasn't worth paying for.

I love this series. it is very fast moving and is truly faithful to the novel, wven with its nuances. it's a mystery and has the (intended) Sherlock/Poirot elements as well as those from shows based on that time period such as Medici/Borgia without it being overtly those kinds of shows. Highly recommend!
