Joan Crawford, for me, even when she gives a lesser performance, is perfection, so I may be biased towards this film. That being said, I had never heard of this film (shame) so I decided to give it a watch. Sure, it's over two hours long, but it gets to the point before the end. Crawford has a good leading man in John Garfield, who is better here than in The Postman Always Rings Twice. Also, Madonna ripped off the ending scene almost frame for frame in one of her music videos. That is all.

It wasn't what I was expecting, I mean, I've heard great things about this movie but it took so long to get to Joanie and too much instrumental stuff. Overall, I still love it and I just love the scene where she walks into the sea to her death
