There are outstanding fundumental differences between the FUNimation version and the original Sunrise entertainment versions. Most notably the difference is the original sound effects created before FUNimation got their grimy grubby paws all over it. For example in Session #5 Sympathy for the Devil, Vicious's birds call is clearly not the same. As well as the length of time is cut from the beginning, as it goes directly to Mao Yenrai stabbing his finger to seal the peace contract between the Red Dragon and the White Tiger Syndicates. Hulu also broadcasts the FUNimation version. Although the access to watching this ground breaking anime which is almost 20 years old is quite convenient, There's no comparing the quality it was originally aired with. So many of the sound effects are played down and softened. Not to mention that in session #24 Hard Luck Woman, FUNimation does not aim high in quality control as evidence is clearly displayed in the last conversation Faye and Ed have together, you can hear audio from session #19. You can hear Jet saying, "This uses the old satellite transmission wave signals for guidance." right after Faye says, "Yes Ed,". Bite the bullet and buy the original DVD's. Quality should never be compromised. Just as Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichiro Watanabe would have it.👍 See You Space Cowboy...

The only anime that I've watched and really felt attached to. The characters are great and belieavble whist still being a lot of fun. This may just be the jazz nerd in me talking but it's honestly worth checking out just for the music. I've also never liked sci-fi stories even franchises like Star Wars but this universe is super interesting and it feels so lived in. The great thing is that it feels like you've just decided to drop by for a visit on the Bebop because everything feels so developed

This show has so much sentimental value. My uncle and I used to stay up watching Toonami anime line-up back in the day, and while I did love Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop stole my heart on an entirely different level. The art, the music, the characters, the different stories amongst the episodes. Everything about that show was just so poetic. I'll never forget being 8 years old and watching "The Ballad of Fallen Angels" for the first time.
