The Beat Beneath My Feat is a fantastic story of friendship, music, and personal redemption. Luke Perry and Nicholas Galitzine have spectacular chemistry as two musicians stuck in their own personal hell. What is particularly notable about this film are its surreal musical sequences. The film manages to shift the focus away from the cliches of the "high school loser" story by focusing on the budding relationship between Luke Perry's tortured musician and Lisa Dillon's overprotective mother.
