About this show

From the producers of "Orphan Black" and the creator of "Lost Girl," "Killjoys" follows a fun-loving, hard-living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she's a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people's trust and respect, regardless of their class. Beneath her banter and protective flirtations, however, lies a dark and secret past.

Great characters, fun, dramatic, but often cheesy. It has commentary on class politics, showing the exploitation of workers and the environment by the ruling clique and how power is based explicitly on ownership of land. The Company rules and is unambiguously evil, which is what makes it hard to watch. The main characters often work on behalf of the Company so I want them to fail the mission. At the same time, they're clearly good people. It's not a good kind of moral tension, just frustrating.

Never could get into this show. Watched an few episodes here and there. Was disappointed when SyFy canceled Dark Matter over this show. Thought of giving another try but highly doubtful.

The effects look like some of SyFy's B movies. The story is a little bit forced. Like Defiance, SyFy looks to be trying to hard to create a fandom for the show.
