Let me first start by saying that I am a college student and this show really appeals to me because of its depth and humor. I have bought every season on Google Play and I watch it every week when the new episode comes out. That having been said; the show appeals to many audiences because the story is usually designed for children, but everything else in the show gets incredibly complex. The creators' attention to detail is amazing. I have watched episodes multiple times over and found things that I have missed the first time around. There are jokes for any age group embedded within each episode. The characters are all lovable in their own respect and in most cases connect with the audience well. The best part of the show, however; is the weirdness, half of the time the show ends with the most random but funny thing one could think of and it leaves the viewer laughing before the show ends. It always makes me want to come back for more. Thanks to Pendleton Ward for creating this show, he is like Matt Groening 2 (Creator of Simpsons and Futurama, some of my other favorite shows). I really hope this review convinces more people to watch this show.

Something that makes Adventure Time unique, and this is especially true as the show matured, is the complexity and deep hidden meaning that follows within the story. There are tales of love, children growing up and the struggles they face. Classic tale between good and evil, but then a lot of emphasis on the personal growth of Finn and trials he goes through. The kid goes through some of the hardest and craziest things you would ever see a kid go through, and the show depicts it. He gets messed up emotionally and the show shows that, it doesn't sugar coat it, it doesn't twist and turn it into something unrelatable. Although it's set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic era and the setting itself is nothing similar to what we live in, the struggles, feelings of loneliness, heartbrokeness, emptiness, etc is all depicted through Finn to it's full extent and is completely relatable. The tales of love Finn experiences through the multiple princess leaves something for the viewer to be anxious for, and wish they had.. but then when things go sour they can relate to it.. the show has such deep and profound meaning, and on many accounts provides people with more of a meaning of life than they may have previously had. It's more than just a comedic cartoon like SpongeBob or Regular Show, it's designed to tap into your emotions, give you Epiphanies, wow you, leave you heartbroken, or fill you with joy. It's designed to make you think of yourself and your life.. which is something that makes this show and absolute gem, and easily my favorite.

I like this show. It's very fun and catchy. The characters have cool designs, and I like that. Like many CN shows, this doesn't have many reruns. But whatever. The one thing about this show, though, is that I don't like how it is constantly switching between who's story it is telling. It makes things confusing. Another thing is that there are SO many characters, and when someone says, " It's _______!" , I have no clue who this person is, even if they have already been in several episodes. My favorite character would probably be Marceline the Vampire Queen. She has a deep storyline with Simon (Ice King) and her life is pretty messed up. I love the songs she sings (Daddy, why did you eat my fries, ect). Olivia Olson has a lovely singing voice, and she is a good voice for Marceline. This show is mostly for teens/ young adults, and I feel like younger kids won't really understand or like this show. But this is my opinion. You can make your 6 yr old watch this. I may have been that age when I started watching this. I really don't remember though. But just try it out. Maybe watch it a different way before you buy it. (8 part Stakes is amazing, do that again at some point) :)
