Jin Shi Chuan persuades Xu Lai to communicate with her parents. Xu Lai returns home and apologizes to her mother. She tells her that she was met with an earthquake ten years ago and that Jin Shi Chuan rescued her. Xu Lai's mother is deeply moved when she finds out that Jin Shi Chuan rescued Xu Lai. She's reminded of the arguments she had with her husband all these years. She feels that she has let her daughter down.
