Martin and Gail view No. 8 and try to hide from Ivy and then go off to the Building Society to sort out a mortgage. Angie asks Bet for a job behind the bar, so Bet takes her on. Betty tries to make Des see Bet is devoted to Alec. Mike tells Alma he'll have the cafe frontage painted for her, but she refuses. Audrey then tells Ken that Mike is pestering Alma. Percy settles into his grotto and surprises everyone with his understanding of children.
