Disaster at Tenerife (KLM 4805 and Pan-Am 1736)
On 27 March 1977, two Boeing 747 passenger aircraft crash on the runway of Los Rodeos Airport on the Spanish island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. With a total of 583 fatalities, the crash is the deadliest accident in aviation history.
