Caterina accepte d’épouser Kurt Moser. Monika réalise que son avenir avec Joachim, qui va être père, est compromis. Il décide de reconvertir l’usine d’armement de son père en entreprise agroalimentaire. Monika se consacre à la musique, composant des chansons de plus en plus personnelles. C’est à elle que Freddy, suicidaire, doit d’être encore en vie. Malgré l’éloignement de son mari, attiré par un avocat, Helga s’accroche à son mode de vie bourgeois.
