Lolle hat einen Grabstein entdeckt, auf dem Martha Damrosch, geborene Beckstein, steht. Zum Glück hat Max ihn nicht gesehen. Erst nach einem gemeinsamen Tanz traut sich Lolle, Max die Wahrheit zu sagen. Martha ist tot. "Ich will ihr Grab sehen!", sagt Max, obwohl es schon mitten in der Nacht ist.
