Le combat du maire de Langouët contre les pesticides
La justice vient de suspendre son arrêté anti-pesticides. Le maire de Langouët est devenu un symbole du combat contre les pesticides. Aujourd’hui, il appelle à la « désobéissance civile ».
Daniel Cueff est le maire de la commune de Langouët, en Bretagne. En prenant un arrêté restreignant l’utilisation des pesticides en mai dernier, il est devenu un porte-parole du combat contre les pesticides.
Début septembre, l’arrêté de Daniel Cueff a été suspendu par la justice au motif qu’un maire n’est pas compétent pour statuer en la matière. L’initiative du maire de Langouët a été suivie par 45 maires qui ont, eux aussi, pris des arrêtés pour encadrer l’usage des pesticides et du glyphosate.
Pour Daniel Cueff, le but d’un élu de la République est de protéger la population et non pas de servir des intérêts politiques. Convaincu que les pesticides portent atteinte à la santé des habitants de sa commune, Daniel Cueff affirme incarner le principe de « désobéissance civile ».
