Chris Ames, le vagabond globe-trotteur qui vit sous un pont à Rennes
EXTRA-ORDINAIRE. S'installer sous un pont plutôt que de vivre dans un appartement, pour certains, c'est une fatalité. Lui, c'est la vie qu'il a choisie. Chris Ames a 63 ans et est arrivé en France il y a plus de 30 ans. Prof d'anglais, il décide en 2009 de vivre dehors, dans une tente, tout en continuant à donner des cours à l'université de Créteil. Depuis, il a parcouru le monde entier et a notamment voyagé en Asie pendant 5 ans. Début 2020, de passage en Bretagne afin d'encourager son fils dans ses études, il passe sous un pont et décide d'y poser sa tente temporairement. Coincé par le confinement, le vagabond qu'il était finit par se sédentariser, et près de 4 ans plus tard, il est toujours là. Cette semaine dans Extra-ordinaire, Leïla Amrouche est partie à la rencontre de ce poète franco-américain, chez lui, sous le pont Laënnec à Rennes.
