A corpse is fished out of a canal in the Savoyard Venice. He is Maître Thomas Valin, a lawyer in charge of a biogenetics laboratory. A laboratory that is on the rise thanks to its "star" researcher Laura Genefort, freshly crowned for the launch of an experimental protocol against an orphan disease: Harding's disease. But why is Pauline, Maxime Vernoux's daughter, being denied access to this protocol? And why did Laura focus on the treatment of this disease, even though it is not very remunerative? What are his links with his lawyer Thomas Valin? And by extension Maxime Vernoux? An over-mediatized case, an incursion into the heart of a flagship technology park in Savoie...
