Fred et Jamy sont partis à la rencontre des baleines à bosse et des cachalots, dans leur aire de reproduction, les Caraïbes. Ils nous expliquent pourquoi les cétacés sont en danger et quelles solutions peuvent être proposées afin de les protéger. En 1960, 90% des individus avaient été exterminés, résultat de la chasse intensive à la baleine. Convoitées pour l'exploitation de leur viande, de leur graisse et de leur huile, les Baleines ont depuis longtemps été chassées par l'homme. Du Japon à l'Amérique, en passant par l'Europe, ces sympathiques cétacés ont été décimés avec les débuts de l'industrialisation, au 19ème et 20ème siècle. Après la seconde guerre mondiale, ce sont 50 000 cétacés qui sont tués par an dans le monde. Aujourd'hui protégées de la chasse commerciale par la commission baleinière internationale, les baleines restent cependant "menacées" ou "en danger d'extinction".
