While Dries and Esther investigate a serial killer who targets young girls by knocking them off their bikes and murdering them, Dries’s niece Sanne comes to stay with him as she searches for a room in Rotterdam. Sanne fits the killer’s victim profile exactly. Meanwhile, Esther’s husband Jacco, eager to start a family, gently urges her to consider leaving her job. Ben Slachter is arrested on charges of corruption and ends up in the same detention center as Jort Wester, who is accused of rape.
