Doña Pura, consciente de que cada vez está peor, intenta reconciliarse con toda la familia, en especial con Mercedes y Herminia, con las que tantos roces tuvo durante su estancia en Madrid. Antonio, que vela por la salud de su madre, intentando proporcionarle todo el cariño que es capaz de dar, sigue muy afectado por el episodio con Don Mauro. Alcántara se convence de que lo mejor que ha hecho en su vida es salir del pueblo, que sólo le trae recuerdos de muerte y miseria. Para su sorpresa, sus hijos, que tanto se quejaban antes, están cogiendo mucho cariño a la vida en Sagrillas. Y es que, como dice Herminia, el pueblo es como una familia grande.
Inés traba amistad con Luisa, la chica a la que prestó ropa para el baile. Le ofrece marcharse a Madrid con ella y, así, conocer nuevos horizontes lejos de Sagrillas. Pero Luisa no sabe qué hacer...
