YOU WILL NEED:
- milk
- unsalted butter
- salt
- plain flour
- strong white flour
- yeast
- caster sugar
- brown sugar
- eggs
- olive oil
- cinnamon (and cardamom)
- coca powder
- chocolate
And to decorate:
- food colouring
- edible glitter
- sprinkles
- and icing sugar
Part 1: the dough
1. get a saucepan - chuck in 100g of butter, - brown it?? 200ml milk, 1tsp salt, leave to cool
2. get a large bowl - 250g of each flour, 1.5tsp of yeast, 1tbsp of caster sugar,
3. add food colouring/cardamom
4. make a well in your bowl mixture, crack in 2 eggs, pour in the saucepan, stir until sticky dough
5. oil a surface, knead for 5-8 minutes, no flour
6. shape into a ball, put it in a big greased bowl, cover the bowl (tight) put somewhere warm for 1 hour
Part 2: the filling
7. get a small bowl, mix 75g of soft butter, 50g of caster sugar, 1 tbsp of cinnamon,
8. in a side bowl put 50g of caster sugar, 1 tbsp of cinnamon
Part 3: the rolling
9. when the dough has risen, flour the surface and plop the dough out, roll it into a 36x24cm rectangle
10. spread the cinnamon butter across the dough, add any chocolate chips
11. roll it landscape bottom to top into a cylinder, cut into 12 equal slices
12. put onto a baking tray, cover with a towel and leave for 40 mins
13. pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6
Part 4: the baking
14. beat 1 egg, brush the tops and sprinkle the side bowl of cinnamon sugar
15. bake for 12 minutes
Part 5: slime
16. icing sugar, splash of water, colouring
