Building Steps ► 3.5 mm Kevlar string rated for 2000lbs was purchased from amazon http://amzn.to/2gvfs8a
• Simplified calculations were done and determined that the tension of the string would be approximately 1800lbs.
• Screw on tie down rings were custom made out of sheet steel and eyelets. We tested their strength against the Kevlar string and the test determined that the tie down rings are stronger than the Kevlar.
• 2x4s were fastened to the structure of the garage and then 4 tie down rings were fastened to the 2x4s.
• The Kevlar string was run to the princess castle and tied to adjustable straps.
• The string was tightened, tested, and then adjusted to reach the appropriate tension.
• A custom made groove bearing pulley was used as the trolley.
