A distress call from her brother Hanno reaches the creative advertising copywriter Jule: she is supposed to help him out at his new rural bistro—to the annoyance of her fiancé Edwin, who had other plans. In the countryside, she not only meets the likeable family man Paul, who is vacationing there with his daughter Lotta, but also her estranged father Otto. However, Jule is not on good terms with him, since he abandoned the family years ago.
When Lotta uncovers a momentous family secret and then runs away, Jule stands by Paul’s side. But then Paul’s wife Pia arrives as well—and she, too, has a secret.
