Freaky Eaters is the worst, and their "shock therapy" is just one reason why. The episode "Addicted to Cheesy Potatoes" with Kelly has to be one of the most iconic ...and best examples of how bad this show and it's "experts" can really be.
Featuring Dr Mike Dow and J.J. Virgin, Freaky Eaters is supposed to be an unflinching look at the most unusual and extreme eating habits, digging into the struggles of people living with strange food addictions and the dire health consequences they face.
But in reality - Freaky Eaters was over-the-top, generally unhelpful and felt like the only thing they cared about were TV views. The conduct of their experts is questionable and the "therapy" they treat their patients with on the show is absolutely insane. Let's dive in.
