Back in Sicily after losing his job at the Ministry of the Interior, Saverio Lamanna, a journalist with a passion for investigations, settles in his family's holiday home, in Màkari. Here the man finds an old childhood friend, the bizarre Piccionello, and begins to attend the beautiful Suleima. But to reawaken it are the death of a child, which took place in unclear circumstances and the drama of a worker who ended up on the street after years of hard work. These two cases help him to rediscover in him the vocation for writing and for unsolved mysteries.
