Mes chers bougres, ribauds, paillards, mécréants, bien le bonjour ! Ah, c’est vrai que ça sonne un peu plus insultant que “camarades”... mais surtout, ça sonne très médiéval ! Le Moyen Âge, beaucoup se le représentent comme dans le film “Les Visiteurs”, avec des Godefroy et des Jacquouille sales et violents. Souvent on pense guerre, massacre, viol… et donc, logiquement, insulte. Et de fait, l'ancien français permet des créations lexicales très imagées, qui sonnent presque comme une langue étrangère à nos oreilles. Du coup, au-delà du cliché, c’était quoi les vraies insultes médiévales ? Déjà faut reconnaître un truc : en la matière, le Moyen Âge a été très, très créatif !
